We develop software for meaningful problems.
Qui Digital Labs LLC is a software company. We make our own products rather than building software for clients, and each one exists for a problem that matters in people’s lives.
Why we exist
We believe software is at its best when it helps with something that matters in a person’s life, and when the people who make it understand that problem before they design for it.
So we choose problems deliberately. We get close enough to a problem to understand the people who live with it, study the research and evidence around it, and only then decide what software should do. We leave out features that exist for their own sake and anything built only to hold attention. We would rather make a few products well than many quickly.
Our first product began close to home: EloSpeak grew out of the founder’s lifelong stutter. Not every problem we take on will be our own. Each one will get the same care.
Over time, we want the name Qui to tell people that a problem was taken seriously and the work was done with care. A name earns that slowly, and only through its products.
How we choose
Three questions before we build anything.
Does this problem weigh on the people who have it?
Do we understand it, including what is already known about it?
Can software help in a practical, lasting way?
If any answer is no, we keep learning, or we leave it.

Written in plain words, so each one can be checked against each product as it stands today.
Real understanding first
A meaningful problem deserves to be understood before anything is designed around it. We look to credible research, the available evidence, and the experience of people who live with the problem.
Nothing for show
Every feature has to help the person using it. We leave out anything built only to hold attention, and technology added for its own sake.
Honest claims
We publish only claims we can support, and we state a product’s limits beside it.
Privacy by design
We build each product to need as little personal information as it can.
Refined over time
Quality lives in small decisions, like the words on a screen. We keep improving a product after it ships.
The name
Qui is said key

Qui is taken directly from the founder’s family name, Carrasquillo. It is the name’s stressed syllable, said as it is in Spanish: “key.”
